Welcome to the 2008/2009 season |
It’s almost time to put the beanies and the gummies away for the summer. It has been a long, wet winter but spring is here and the new season is almost upon us. The sound of leather on willow will soon take over from raindrops on the roof as the predominant sound at the Heathcote Domain. To get things up and running, here are some pre-season dates for your diary.

2007-2008 Prizegiving |
On March 15th we held our annual prizegiving and end of season function. It was a little earlier than usual due to the intervention of Easter in to the cricket season. Get back in to April where you belong!
Our Patron Dave Collier once again presented the prizes, but the highlight of the evening was that Bob Kerr and his wife Carol were able to be there in time for Bob, the previous CSCA batting record holder, to present John Garry with his award for most runs. The official part of the evening over, it was time for the bar to take a hammering. Our very own band the ‘Fool Tossers’ played all the old favourites, and the Social Members won the Skit competition narrowly over the Women’s team. Judging by the state of the clubrooms the following morning a very good time was had by all!

Farewell to Rob and Anita! |
Club stalwarts Rob & Anita Armstrong are leaving us for the good life down in Otematata. Rob joined the club in 1990 (ish) and soon came to prominence with a level of humour and raconteurship that managed to exceed his cricketing prowess.
