2004/05 Junior Traditional Cricket Teams Report |
Two teams were entered in Senior Sections 2 and 3 of the Canterbury Junior Cricket Association Saturday morning competitions. The sides acquitted themselves well with the players being moved around depending on the venue, rides and friends. They had a 70% success rate of wins over losses and all the players made good progress as the season progressed. Rory Ellis, Sam Bird and Kyle Clark all made good improvement with their bowling, while Aaron Craw and new boys Trevor Swainson and Simon Burgess did so with the bat. The supportive nature of parents was greatly appreciated with 100% turnouts at games and practices outside sickness and other commitments being really appreciated.

Women's Team Captain's report for the 2004/05 Season |
During the conversation evening of the 75th Jubilee I was fascinated by the photographs and stories told by various past and present club cricketers and social members. Throughout the evening images of complicated gymnastic manoeuvres, servery somersaults and the 400m dash were recaptured and undoubtedly exaggerated upon. A few wines down and I was handed the task of resurrecting the proud tradition of women’s cricket at the club. It would be fair to say however that this team would take form in a very different mould to that of the successful, skilled and coordinated women’s squad of the previous decade.

3A Captains Report for the 2004/05 Season |
The season was always going to be a tough season with the introduction of a second grade team. This necessitated that 2-3 regular 3A members from last year would be promoted along with the need though-out the season to help them out when unavailability’s struck. Rest assured all of the team understood the need to support the club despite it severely weakening our team.

3C Captains Report for the 2004/05 Season |
The 2004/05 season was not a particularly good one on the field for the Heathcote Cricket Club. The 3C team didn’t fare much better than most although we did manage to win a few games.
